Jamaika um das Jahr 1967: Treibende Rocksteady-Beats durchziehen das Land, hin und wieder hört man noch ein paar R’n’B- & Ska-Klassiker im Radio und Coxsone Dodd’s Studio 1 schraubt gerade an den ersten Reggae-Rhythmen. Jackie Opel schmettert einen Lovesong nach dem anderen, Toots & Maytals feuern die Parties an, Derrick Morgan hetzt die Rude Boys durch den Dance und The Wailers rufen zum Protest gegen Babylon. Genau diesen Stylen Jamaikas haben sich die Dresdner Big Bullet Allstars verschrieben: tiefe Rocksteady-Linien, drückende Reggae-Beats, hier und da noch eine Ska-Nummer zum mitschunkeln und nicht zuletzt auch mal eine kleine Dub/DJ-Session. Eine klassische Bläser-Sektion, zwei Gitarren, Orgel, Bass, Drums, Offbeat-Revue voilà!
